906. Using Italics with Book Titles

We use a certain slanted letter form called italics when writing the title of a book.
Our teacher made us read The Grapes of Wrath to learn about the Great Depression.
My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 tells about the perils of banning books.
You will notice that each book title has been written in the slanted type called italics.

Be sure to use italics when writing a book title.

It’s your turn. Decide which words in this sentence should be italicized. My friend and I both read The Hunger Games this summer. Can you tell which words are the book title? Be sure to italicize those words.
