Always use a comma between items in a list when there are at least three items.
Look at this list and notice where the commas are placed:
My little brother likes to eat hot dogs, chips, and ice cream.
We put a comma after each of those items in the list except for the item at the end.
Here are more examples of using a comma in a list:
The flag is red, white, and blue.
Mom bought eggs, milk, and bread at the store.
At the zoo, we saw elephants, lions, bears, and dolphins.
Be sure to use a comma after each item in a list.
