1239. Using Pronouns – they/them

Use the pronoun they when talking about other people without using their names.
The pronoun they is a subject pronoun that does the action.
My neighbors have a tennis court, and they play nearly every evening.

The pronoun them also replaces the name of other people you are talking about.
Use the pronoun them as an object pronoun – the action happens to them.
My neighbors were outside, and I was talking to them.

Use the pronouns they and them in place of the names of people.
