827. Adverbs Modify Verbs

An adverb can modify a verb and tell more about the action.
Bob climbed the hill.
Bob slowly climbed the hill.
In the second sentence, the adverb slowly tells more about how Bob climbed.
Use adverbs to add more detail to your writing.

Here are more examples of an adverb being used to modify the verb:
Jan quickly read the letter.
Dad eventually finished the yard work.
