792. Present Tense Verbs with a Singluar Noun

The word tense means “time.” When we talk about a present tense verb, we mean an action happening right now – in the present time.

A singular noun (only one person or thing) uses a present tense verb that often has an -s at the end. Look at these examples:
Bob runs.
Susan walks.
The dog barks.
The bell rings.
These verbs ending in -s are singular present tense verbs.

Be sure to add an -s to singular verbs in the present tense.

▶It’s your turn. Write the verb that should be in the blank in this sentence. Dad uses the car and ______to work. Did you choose the present tense verb drives? Good for you!
