783. Using the Preposition “to”

The preposition to is used in the objective part of a sentence. Use the pronoun me with the preposition to:
Mom gave a gift to me.
My teacher donated her time to me.
Janet showed her new website to me.
Sam said he needs to talk to me.

If you add additional people after the preposition to, you should still use the pronoun me.
Mom gave a gift to my boyfriend and me.
My teacher donated her time to my classmates and me.
Janet showed her new website to Bob and me.
Sam said he needs to talk to Barbara and me.

Always use the pronoun me with the objective preposition to, even if there are additional people in the prepositional phrase.

▶It’s your turn. Put the correct pronoun into the blank in the second sentence. Dad wrote a letter to me. Dad wrote a letter to my brother and ______. Good job!
