I sometimes play volleyball.
I play volleyball sometimes.
I often play tennis.

I occasionally run races.
I run races occasionally.
The meaning of the sentence does not change with the placement of the adverb. It’s more about how the sentence flows. Your ear will have to decide where it likes to have the adverb – where the adverb sounds better.
