This week we studied four rules for commas:
– comma before one of the FANBOYS
– comma at the end of a subordinate clause
– comma after an introductory phrase or word
_ comma on both side of an appositive phrase.
Section A. Insert the needed commas into each sentence below.
1. Today is Monday and we have gym class.
2. I like softball and Bob likes baseball.
3. The bread is stale so I have to do some shopping.
4. When it stops raining we can play tennis.
5. Because I forgot to bring money I can’t pay for the prom ticket.
6. I hope we get home before the snowstorm arrives.
7. In the morning we’ll take a bike ride.
8. Yes the dinner last night was very good.
9. After school I have to go to marching band practice.
10. My instrument the oboe is considered a woodwind.
11. Mr. Gray Sam’s dad is our soccer coach.
12. His car a 1974 Pinto is parked in the back lot.
