The first and last word of a book title, and all important words in between, must be capitalized. The only middle-of-the-title words that do not get capitalized are a, an, the, and, as, at, but, by, for, in, of, on, or, up
Here are some examples of how we capitalize book titles:
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Grapes of Wrath
Alice in Wonderland
The Catcher in the Rye
The Great Gatsby
Always capitalize the first and last words of a title and all important words in between.
▶It’s your turn. Find the words in this sentence that should be capitalized. My favorite book in middle school was a wrinkle in time. Did you find the title and capitalize the important words? Good for you!
