738. Adjectives Modify Nouns by Telling What Color

Color words are adjectives. When you use a color word in front of a noun to describe the noun’s color, you are using an adjective. Look at these sentence examples:
My dad bought a red truck.
I have brown hair.
Sally likes the pink dress.
That black cat lives next door.

In sentences that use a linking verb, the adjective is separated from the noun. Look at these examples:
My dad’s truck is red.
My hair is brown.
The dress Sally likes is pink.
The cat that lives next door is black.
