557. Action Verbs – Present Progressive

The present progressive tense is used to show action that is happening right now in a continuous way. We add an -ing ending to an action verb and use a helping word in front of the action verb.

Look at these examples of the present progressive verbs. We use helping verbs am, is ,are.
I am working.
You are working.
They are working.
We are working.
John is working.
She is working.

Use the progressive tense to show continuous action at the present time.
While I clean the garage, my sister is baking a cake.
We are watching television until bedtime arrives.
The volleyball team is practicing in the gym.

Present progressive actions verbs show action that is happening continuously. Use the helping verbs am, is, are with an -ing form of the verb to make present progressive tense.
