273. Adjectives Tell the Color and Age of Nouns

Color words are adjectives. We can modify a noun by using a color word in front of the noun.
I saw a red bird in the bushes.
The bride will wear a white dress at her wedding.
My friend lives in that yellow house.
Sherry bought a pink sweater.

We also use adjectives to show the age of a noun. These adjectives modify a noun by showing its age:
old, new, elderly, young, ancient, newborn, fresh, stale, teen-aged, middle-aged

The ancient house was built in the 1800s.
I heard a newborn baby crying.
Mom said to use the fresh bread for our sandwiches.
Sam’s elderly grandmother was at the band concert.
