165. Practice With Apostrophe and Colon

Section A: Make each word pair into a one-word contraction by bumping out some letters and inserting an apostrophe.
Example: can not = can’t

Section B: Put a colon into each sentence below. Note – one sentence does not get a colon.
9. Please put the following items into the car the cooler, the beach towels, and the shovel and pail.
10. I need three things for class my binder, my calculator, and a ruler.
11. I’ll bring some magazines, some books, and the quilt that I’m working on.
12. Be sure to read these books Jane Eyre, David Copperfield, and Main Street.

Section C: Each sentence has one word that needs an apostrophe. Rewrite the word with an apostrophe in it.
13. Be sure to dot your i’s and cross your ts when you write.

15. I gave Jans book to her, and this one is yours.
