1031. Regular Past Tense Verbs

A past tense verb tells action that happened before now. A regular past tense verb adds-ed to indicate past tense.

back- ed = backed
Bob backed the truck into a tree.

jump – ed = jumped
The squirrel jumped onto the fence.

plow – ed = plowed
The truck plowed the snow from the parking lot.

Add -ed to a verb to show action that happened in the past. We call this a past tense verb.
