Yesterday we talked about using the pronoun me after the prepositions to, for, and from.
He gave the dog to me.
He gave the dog to my brother and me.
My teacher had a suggestion for me.
My teacher had a suggestion for Bob and me.
The team collected money from me.
The team collected money from the girls and me.
We always use the pronoun me (never I) as the object in a prepositional phrase.
Here are more prepositions that are be followed by the pronoun me:
about, after, before.
My dad told a story about me.
Bob went through the doorway after me.
Matt was ready before me.
We can add a second object of the preposition to each sentence. The sentence will still end with me.
My dad told a story about Jimmy and me.
Bob went through the doorway after Sam and me.
Matt was ready before Mom and me.
You should also use the object pronoun me with the preposition between.
The dog sat between my brother and me.
Don’t let one little mistake come between you and me.
Remember: Me is an object pronoun. You will always use me (not I) as an object in a prepositional phrase.
